Students will begin the Design Challenge by reviewing the work completed on the organism profiles, SFM and 4 Box biological specifications. Students will work in teams using the information to ideate and specify a problem that requires the same function.

Welcome to the Design Challenge! You have worked very hard to research and understand things that suck and the human arm and hand. Now you are going to apply what you have learned over the past 3 weeks to identify an organism that has a function that can solve a problem. You will Brainstorm ideas with your group.

Students will need to gather and reference the following completed research items:

Students will use the information from the last 2 weeks: Organism profiles, SFM and 4 Box biological specifications. They will do the following:

  • Students will use the information to ideate and specify a problem that requires the same function. They can also access the Padlet to view different organism information: 2.2.3. Organism Research Presentation Padlet TEMPLATE.
  • Remind students - The Bio Inspired solution drives us to the problem.
  • Teacher will conference with each team to writes a problem statement.
