Week 5 Overview
Learning Objectives
Students will use the SCAMPER technique to ideate ideas for their solution to the design challenge. They will sketch their ideas with and create their first conceptual design for this design challenge. Students will need to take a picture of their design to upload the EDPL.

Conceptual Design 1

Engineering requires considering multiple solutions to a problem. These solutions can be roughly drawn or described without complete details to consider whether or not a solution is promising.

Work with your group to create Conceptual Design 1. A conceptual design is a complete design, where ideas can be either a complete design or a partial design. After making several sketches, students should evaluate the requirements for their design and update the EDPL.

Upload your conceptual design 1 to the EDPL “Ideate” tab. Add any Research Notes, if needed.
